Joël Lammeretz graduated as a historian in 2021. The previous four years he had spent at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the University of Glasgow and the KU Leuven. Here he specialized in modern cultural history. He mainly researched these using the methods of discourse analysis and oral history. Both times his thesis research was about (Dutch and Belgian) Limburg identity formation in the nineteenth century. This interest in Limburg history brought him to the Limburgs Museum in 2022. Since then he has been working as a curator on the exhibition Feest!, which opens on November 30, 2023. He is also part of the development team for the new permanent collection presentation.
